Kenneth McCarthy Graduate Scholarship Guidelines & Eligibility
An Ideal Candidate Has:

An outstanding undergraduate academic record

Demonstrated leadership ability (e.g., as shown through participation in community service, extracurricular, or other activities)
-
Exceptional personal success skills (e.g., emotional maturity, motivation, perseverance, etc.)

Bonus points will be awarded to applicants who have received the Share Health Southeast Georgia undergraduate scholarship or who are employees of Share Health Southeast Georgia or the Southeast Health District.

Eligibility Criteria:
1. Pursuing a graduate degree or certification program that involves work at the graduate level in a health or behavioral health field, including Medicine, Pharmacy, Dentistry, Nursing, Behavioral Health, or Public Health.
2. A resident of one of the 16 counties of the Southeast Health District.
3. Demonstrated financial need.
4. Maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
5. Enrolled in or applying for admission to a graduate program, or certification program that includes graduate study in a college or university which is classified as tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
6. Complete application form and include a one-page essay describing why you are furthering your education and why you intend to continue living in southeast Georgia and working in health care.
7. Submit an official undergraduate transcript that indicates your GPA and undergraduate degree.
8. Submit two letters of reference, including one from a current or former employer in a health care
field.
An Advisory Committee will select the scholarship winner(s), and will be subject to the approval of the Board of Directors of Share Health Southeast Georgia. No member of the Advisory Committee, or his or her immediate family, shall be eligible for scholarship assistance during his or her tenure on the Advisory Committee.
